Our Instructors

Mona Nour
PhD, LCMHC, BC-TMH
Dr. Mona Nour is the founder and owner of Nour Counseling & Consulting, PLLC. She is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Board Certified Telemental Health provider (#2040) with 20 years experience in counseling, teaching, and program development in colleges and schools. Dr. Nour earned a Ph.D. in counseling and counselor education from North Carolina State University, and has researched identity processes of bicultural individuals whose parents immigrated to the United States. Her lived experience as an Egyptian American who grew up in rural NC led to the creation of models on universal identity and belonging. Mona's counseling approach is based in exploring both the inner and outer worlds of an individual, and navigating the integration of the two.

Richard Tyler-Walker
PhD, LCMHC-S
Dr. Richard Tyler-Walker earned an Education Specialist degree from James Madison University in community agency counseling with a focus on couples counseling. He later completed a PhD in counselor education from North Carolina State University, and has been a professional counselor for 25 years.
Richard has a clear focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as a strong appreciation for individuals with bicultural identities and third culture kids. He seeks to use his training and experience, both as a gay man and a helping professional, to become an intentional advocate for all communities.

Sherri Ford-Jacobs
LCMHC, LCAS
Sherri Ford-Jacobs earned her master's degree in clinical mental health counseling from South University. She is currently preparing her dissertation to earn a PhD in counseling and counselor education at NC State University.
Her research interests include LGBTQIA+ equity and inclusion, social justice counseling and supervision, and promoting counselor and client wellness through liberation psychology.
